Fun Outdoor Team Building Locations in Fort Worth

Team Building Venues

If you are looking for some fun, outdoor team building locations in Fort Worth Texas, we identified a few of our favorite venues! There is a big reason why huge corporations from all over the world come to Ft Worth, Texas for conventions and annual meetings. Fort Worth has the most realistic “cowboy experience” in the “big city” that you will find. Back in 2000, The Leader’s Institute ® moved our corporate office over to the Tarrant County side of the Dallas-Fort-Worth metroplex. Since then, we have discovered some of the most fun outdoor team building locations in Fort Worth. Below are a few of our team building venue recommendations. One of our favorite locations in the Fort Worth Stockyards. Another great Ft Worth location is downtown in Sundance Square. Texas Christian University has a fabulous campus that is excellent for team building activities. The Grand Prairie entertainment district has a number of museums and other entertainment venues. And, of course, the Arlington entertainment district has Six Flags, Hurricane Harbor, Globe Life Ballpark in Arlington and AT&T Stadium. The fantastic news is that every, single one of these locations is less than 15 minutes away downtown Fort Worth, and just a few more minutes away from downtown Dallas.

Fun Outdoor Team Building Locations in Fort Worth and Arlington

The Fort Worth Stockyards: The Stockyards is probably the most often used team building location in all of Texas. It has cowboys, bull riding, a cattle drive, and a ton of fun activities. The Stockyards was originally the hub of Ft Worth. This was the location that the train system used to transport the beef from the Texas ranches to all parts of the United States. Now, it is a living museum to the late 1800’s. The Stockyards hotel was built in the the 1800’s and still has a lot of the original furniture and fixtures. Every Friday and Saturday night, The Stockyards Rodeo entertains groups (and has for over 100 years). Your group can ride horses along the Trinity River. If you want to explore indoor team building activities, the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame Museum is fantastic! The Tarantula Train takes riders from The Stockyards to another great team building location, Downtown Grapevine (and back). There is so much to do here, that we can’t list everything here, but The Stockyards has a great website at http://www.fortworthstockyards.org. We conduct a number of team building activities at this location. The video to the right shows a small sample of one of them. Fort Worth Sundance Square: Sundance Square in downtown Ft Worth is a very popular location for meetings and team building activities. This downtown area has some of the finest restaurants in the area and a number of nice hotels. The Hilton in downtown was the place that John F. Kennedy slept the night before he was assassinated, so the hotel is decked with JFK memorabilia. (It is also across the street from the Ft Worth Convention Center.) Sundance Square has a Cheesecake Factory, a Flying Saucer, Risky’s Barbecue, and, my favorite, the Taco Diner (Yum!). Outdoor team scavenger hunts are great here, because of the dancing fountains and western murals. Sundance Square is also home to the Comedy Improv group Four Day Weekend who also have their own corporate comedy team building activities. (Lot’s of fun!) Texas Christian University: University campuses are usually a great place for team scavenger hunts, and TCU has a great campus. The campus has lots of green space, and the best scavenger hunts occur when there are interesting things to photograph and video. Your team can capture fantastic images of their groups in front of stunning statues and works of art. You might even be able to capture an image of the world’s largest horny toad. The campus really is a stunning place to conduct an outside team building event in Fort Worth. The Grand Prairie Entertainment District: The entertainment district in Grand Prairie has both indoor and outdoor team building venues that are very fun. This location is home of the Verizon Theater and Lone Star Park. It also has a number of indoor museums like the Palace of Wax and Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum. (Okay technically, Grand Prairie is one of our favorite places for Indoor Team Building Events, but there are a lot of choices here, so we included it as well.) Arlington Entertainment District: If your group is into sports or entertainment, Arlington is a great location for you. In the summer, The Texas Rangers play at Globe Life Ballpark in Arlington. In the fall, The Dallas Cowboys play at AT&T stadium just down the road. In fact, AT&T is a very popular place for corporate events and activities because of the great meeting room space. Tours of the stadium are also very popular for visitors. Although Six Flags is somewhat “dated” these days, they add new rides and events almost every year. Just across Interstate 30, a number of great hotels are adjacent to Hurricane Harbor water park. Keep in mind that Arlington is similar to Las Vegas in that everything is HUGE. So, walking from one location to another is not a great option. So, if you are looking for a location for a team scavenger hunt, downtown Arlington has had somewhat of a revitalization recently. Babe’s Fried Chicken was one of the first “comers” to the revitalization, and a number of nice places have followed.
