Outdoor Team Building Venues in Dallas County and Collin County

    • Historic West End: If you are looking for a fun place to conduct an outdoor team building event, the West End is a perfect choice. The JFK Dealey Plaza and the “Grassy Knoll” are features of this location. Plus, having the Dallas light rail traveling through the downtown area makes this location ideal to travel to from suburb hotels. The Dallas Convention Center is strategically located near the West End, and a couple of our favorite hotels in Dallas, The Fairmont and the Omni are within walking distance, and the Hyatt Regency is also really close. The West End is the closest venue to Love Field airport.
    • Lower Greenville: Lower Greenville Avenue in East Dallas is a neighborhood that is most know for it’s nightlife, but it is a fantastic place for great food and drinks. If you have a small group, and you are looking for an inexpensive way to entertain everyone, then Lower Greenville is good option. Most hotels are a short distance away, though, so you will likely need arrange for transportation unless your group is local.
    • Historic Grapevine: Grapevine has a nice convention center for smaller groups, and if you have a bigger team, the Gaylord Texan is one of the most popular hotel/convention centers in the state. The historic area is the old downtown area of Grapevine that has been, oddly enough, restored to a rustic, vintage venue. Shops and restaurants line streets of this quaint city. Grapevine is the closest venue to DFW airport.
    • Frisco, Texas: If you are looking for a new and fresh location, Frisco is very popular. If your groups are interested in sports, Dr. Pepper Ballpark has the Triple A Frisco Rough-Riders, and FC Dallas, the Dallas professional soccer team is also home in Frisco. Embassy Suites has a fantastic convention center just outside of Dr. Pepper Ballpark. Frisco is also well known for having world-class golf courses.
    • Los Colinas: Although, not as popular a destination as in the past, Los Colinas is a great place for meetings and team building events. The Four Seasons hotel and Golf Resort is close to the Irving Convention Center, and the Omni Hotel is in North Los Colinas. For outdoor team activities, the Mandalay Canal Walk at Las Colinas can be a fun location for scavenger hunts. Valley Ranch is also in this area, and can be a great location for outdoor activities as well.
    • Downtown McKinney, TX: The historic society in McKinney, Texas have done a fantastic job restoring their downtown area. Main Street is home of great shops and historical buildings with nice dining establishments. It is a little drive from Dallas, but well worth the trip.
    • Denton, TX: Denton has an old-timey town square complete with a county courthouse, museums, art galleries, and… well, the best Chicken Fried Steak in Texas at Cartwright’s. Make sure and explore the bookstore that was created out of the old Opera House.

Whether you are in Plano or Lewisville or down in the Duncanville, Lancaster, Desoto area, there are fantastic places to meet and organize a team building activity throughout the Dallas Metro-Plex. Mesquite has one of the most famous rode arenas in the world (and they even have a semi-pro football team that is really fun to watch). Lake Ray Hubbard has a number of fantastic venues as well. And of course, make sure and view our article on the Tarrant County/Ft Worth side of the metro area for more options!
